Golden Lions at Dragon Blade Wars '06 WOW...What a great event! Weather was pleasant, people awsome, company THERE! Just as at Darkshore, we made a good showing. There were 6 of us in Lion garb starting Friday night, so people got to see that we do still exist. Not only was he there, but Castings won the weapon master tourny. Mortakai, tied with Kezgar for 2nd. Our petitioner Raf was also in the top 10. I won the no champs tourny and Grix came in 2nd. Saturday evening we had a meeting. The great news is that we unanimously voted that Feanix should join our company. We welcomed him in with many licks and hugs, and a little playful wrestling. He was absolutly goofy grinning, and wouldn't let go of that tunic for anything. It was really nice to see so much excitement in us all. Sunday morning we all got up early and made breakfast. In our silliness, we made a lion shaped pancake and another in egg. That's most of the eventful news. Had a great time. I loved hanging
out with lotsa Lions. I've already got the next year of event hopes
in my head.
I think I'm going to try to get a group of us up to Knoblander in
March, and I know folks are trying to work Darkshore in May. Cost is
prohibitive, but if possible I'll make Rakis next year, and then we're
back to next fall at either DBW, or HW.
Wow, what a cool weekend! Every time I get near a few lions I get all charged up again. There were many silly jokes, and a few new catch phrases coined, that just have to be told...but I'll let somebody funnier than me do it. We had a Lions jugging team that rocked, and looked good! In the company battle we rocked...and looked good. See a theme? By the end of the weekend we had 2 new people ask to petition. Grix is sponsoring Feanix, Mortakai and Kira are sponsoring Raf. We all got to site on Friday, and promptly left for dinner together. We actually stayed on site all Saturday, and most of Sunday. We left the event early to all go to dinner, 5 Lions, 2 petitioners, and a few extra friends. I got to sit between my two new squires, Kira and Libelle. It was a truely good Amtgard dinner! Well that was Darkshore. I tried to give a summary, and leave the fun details so others could share too.
